I've always been a music lover...music to me can help you through anything.
When I initially tore my ACL I was devastated yet very optimistic. I was a tough cookie and I knew I could get through it with ease. And then reality hit. I went into a spin of highs and lows, mostly lows. I was depressed and had no idea if I would be the same player or ever play again.
Music was my saving grace...anytime I felt myself go into a dark place or a negative mindset I blasted these songs and the lyrics gave me a different type of motivation to turn my thoughts around. If you listen to something or sing at the top of your lungs the words are imprinted and you believe them - in turn, you start to believe in yourself.
Injuries are tough, but be sure to surround yourself with positive people, unwavering confidence, and a mentality that you are unstoppable!!
